The fund deficit shown above will not affect the successful completion of
these projects, since neither plans nor right of way acquisition for the
projects listed in "B" above will be completed by that date.
In addition to the projects listed in "A" and "B" above, an estimated
$50,000 in Gas Tax Funds will be required over a two-year period to finance
the City's share (28.7f) of the cost of the TOPICS project (interconnection
of traffic signals on Wilshire Boulevard and on Santa Monica Boulevard)
currently under design 3n this office.

Subject: Summary of Proposed Street Improvement Projects and
Available Gas Tax Funds, 1971-1972,
It presently is anticipated that accrued interest and unexpended balances
on approved projects mill be sufficient to finance our share of this
project.
It is recommended that the City Council be requested to approve the projects
listed in "B" above and to approve the expenditure, at the appropriate
time, of the above 477,000 isi State Gasoline Tax Funds to aid in the
financing of said projects,
