SUBJECT: Final Map Approval
Introduction
This report transmits a Final Map for City Council approval of
following condomihium project which received Tentative Approval
October 15, 1979 and an extension granted to April 15, 1981:

Background
After public hearing and careful review of the record and staff
recommendations, the City Planning Commission approved the Tenta-
tive Prtap for the above project. The action of the Planning Com-
mission was based. on its finding that the proposed subdivision
should cause no substantial environmental damage and is in con-
formance with all state and local laws and applicable General
Plan Elements.
On January 19, 1981 the Planning Commission. certified that the
Final Map conforms to the Tentative Map. The License Division
reports that the developer has either paid or agreed to pay the
condominium tax. The Building and Safety and Fire Departments
indicate that the project meets present fire safety requirements.
Approval by the County Engineer's office has been received for
the project.

Seven older dwelling units were demolished in February 1979.
Construction began in May 1980 and is approximately 75% complete.
Alternatives
State and City ordinances require approval of final subdivision
which comply with approved Tentative Maps.
Recommendation
Inasmuch as the Final Map conforms to the approved Tentative
Map, the buildings meet required safety standards and the tax
has been paid or an agreement to pay executed, it is respect-
fully recommended that the City Council affirm the findings of
the Planning Commission and approve said Map `by approving the
attached Resolution.

AND APPROVING SUBDIVISION MAP OF
TRACT NO. 38531
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MOPIICA DOES RESOLVE
as FoLLOws:
SECTION 1. That the Map of Tract No. 38531 in the City of
Santa Monica presented by Progressive Savings and Loan Association,
being a subdivision for condominium purposes of portions of
Lot 4, Block-K, The'Palisades Tract, as shown on Map recorded in
Book 8, Page 32 of Maps, Records of Los Angeles County, be and
the same hereby is accepted and approved.
SECTION 2. -That the City Clerk hereby is authorized and
directed to endorse upon the face of said Map this order authen-
ticated by the Seal of the City .of Santa Monica.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
