SL'BJECT:r Appeal, Denial of Extension, Tentative Tract
No. 37368, Piew Six-Unit Condominium,
1443 Princeton Street, R2, :~7. Bredberg
Introduction
This is an appeal from the Planning Commission's failure to grant
an extension of a tentative map for a condominium project.
Background
On August 4, 1980 the Planning Commission approved a tentative
map for a neca 6°unit condominium at 1443 Princeton Street where
the Rent Contol Board had authorized removal of the existing house.
The project has not proceeded and no demolition permit or building
permit has been issued. T~'ithout extension the map would lapse on
August 4, 1981.
On August 3, 1981 the Planning Commission took no action on a
request for extension and the applicant has appealed the Commission's
failure to act. At tiie time the matter was considered only four
Commissioners Caere present, three of whom favored taking no action.
Under the moratorium ordinance the Planning Commission is required
to deny all requests for extension.
Recommendation
As the intent of the moratorium ordinance was to prohibit extensions
of tentative tract maps, it is respectfully recommended that the
appeal be denied.
