Sntroduction

This report transmits an amended fee in connection with Snterim
Development Permit No. DR 031 for a new automobile service and
parking building at 1424 Eighteenth Street for Kramer Motors.
Background
On March 23, 1982 the City Council requested re-calculation of
possible development fees in connection with this project using ~
the purchase price of the property as well as the construction '
costs. ~'serow doc~~-ents indicate the two lots involved were

purchased in 1975 at a total cast of $81,000. The amended fee

of 8°s based on a ccnstruction cost of .$948,673 and the land costs
of $81,u00 would ~_ 582,373.84 rather than the previously.
proposed $76,893.83.
Recommendation
It is respectfully recommended that the Interim Development Permit
be .approved with all previous requirements except that the fee to
be assessed in the event the .City prevails in the United Brotherhood
of Carpenters case be established at $82,373.84_

followed) then Motion by CM Conn: Move the approval of the interim development
permit with the new figures as the staff report indicates. 2nd: Edwards.
Roll call (you have, probably.)
Vote: Mayor YG: I'm voting no, and I'd like the record to reflect it is
because I do not believe it's appropriate to extend commercial development into
the residential zone. CM Edwards: (Also,) I also agree with you in this
case that since it was already developed as commercial development, I don't see
it as an encroachment issue. I think that the record should reflect that also.
