Woodlawn Cemetery Expansion Project - Clearing & Grdr~~"

As you know, the City Council, at its meeting of April l~F,
1970, deferred action on the proposed Woodlawn Cemetery
expansion, as outlined in my memo of April 8, 1g70 entitled
"Woodlawn Cemetery Expansion", pending presentation by the
administration of a plan for development involving mausoleum
construction on a portion of the property.
This plan currently is under s$udy and will be presented to
the Council in the near future.
In view of the necessity, because of the small number of
unsold graves remaining, to expedite this project as much
as possible, it is my recommendation that we proceed at this
time with clearing the existing structures from the property
so that construction on the project can proceed without delay
upon approval of the development plan.
It is estimated that the building removal will cost $7,500.
Therefore, it is recommended that the City Council be requested
to authorize this initial phase of the expansion program and
appropriate $7,500 to finance the work.
