Subject: ORDINANCE AMENDING SANTA MONICA MUNICIPAL CODE
SECTION 9.04.10.02.340 TO AUTHORIZE THE PLACEMENT OF
FURNITURE, PORTABLE LANDSCAPING, AND. CIGARETTE
DISPOSAL RECEPTACLES WITHIN THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY AND
THE DISPLAY OF MERCHANDISE IN PRIVATE VESTIBULES
Recommended Action
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance.
Executive Summary
At its meeting on March 11, 2008, the City Council introduced for first reading an
ordinance amending Santa Monica Municipal Code Section 9.04.10.02.340 to authorize
the placement of furniture, portable landscaping, and cigarette disposal receptacles
within the .public right-of-way and the display of merchandise in private vestibules. The
ordinance is now presented to the City Council for adoption.
