Kennedy Director of Public Works City of Santa Pdonica 16`35 Main Street Santa Monica, California 90401 Dear hir. Kennedy: The purpose of this letter is to ir_quire whether the City of Santa idonica is interested i_n' participating in the el*nination of the present pedestrian cross walks across Pacific. Coast rii~h:vay and replacing their: arith pedestrian o=rercrossir_o structures betvreen the palisades and the beach. We envision the possibility of three additional pedestrian overcrossings: 1. Vicinity of the west tunnel portal 2. Vicinity of California - Incline 3. A point opposite Montana Avenue We believe this nronosal is in keeping with the inprcvemert of Pacific Coast ?iighvray by eliinir?ating points of conflict and congestion and improving the safety of the high- way. Very truly yours, ~. ~~ _ ~;-~' A, D. MA~S'FIELD Assistant District Engineer Design C RONALD REAGAN, Governer
