J ~ ~' PE''_ Ci PY vE `~~.~~ `J ~i Included as Stage ~ in my March 3, 1870 "Report ` and Recommendation on Signalization of Hazardous Inter- sections" was the construction of certain pedestrian overcrossings, including three over the Pacific Coast Highway - at Montana Avenue, at Washington Avenue as a continuation of the existing overcrossing over the California Incline, and between Santa Monica Boulevard and Broadway. The City Council, at its March 2~k, 1970 meeting, specifically approved certain elements of the above report and generally approved, as a Master Plan, the remainder, No specific mention was made of the recommendation for the Coast Highway overcrossings. The State Division of Highways has asked for an expression relative to our interest in these overcrossings.. (See attached letter, which also: was attached to my March 3 Report). It would be my recommendation that the City indi- cate its concurrence in this proposal and its willingness to participate to the extent of providing any required right of way for supports; stairways, etc., at those locations where the Gity owns the property. It is recommended that the City Council be requested to approve this proposal and authorize me to so inform the Division of Highways. BARTLETT l..
