United States Department of Agriculture $ 42,339
City of Santa Monica General Fund $ 84,999
Proposition A - Transportation Fund $ 18,800
Total $389,336
The $176, 278 applied for in the grant to the Los Angeles County
Area Agency on Aging represents an increase of $3,926 for the
congregate nutrition program, $14,970 for the home delivered
meals program, and $4,856 for the transportation program as
compared to approved funding level for 1985-86.
If approved, the grant proposal will result in an estimated
increase of $9,922 over the, City's 1985-86 General Fund
contribution. This increase is due to an anticipated increases
in salaries, food-costs and decreased contribution from the
U.S.D.A.
The City operates the Nutrition Program at four sites: Lincoln
Park, Memorial Park, the Senior Recreation Center and Virginia
Park. A food service company is under sub-contract to provide 225
hot meals per serving day as well as 68 home delivered meals per
serving day. In addition, the nutrition van provides 8,000 units

reflected in the proposed 1986-87 budget recommendations in order
to reflect any grant approvals known at that time.
