SUBJECT. Designation of City Clerk as Secretary to the Agency
Background
By Ordinance No. 1202 (CCS), the City Council, on April 14, 1981, designated
the City Clerk as the Secretary to the Agency. It is appropriate for the Agency
to ratify the Council's action by resolution.
Staff is currently revising the Agency's bylaws, last revised in 1974, to
accomplish this as well as to bring the bylaws into conformance with present
legislation and practice. The revised bylaws will be presented to the Agency for
their consideration within 30 to 45 days.
In the interim period, it is necessary to ratify the Council ordinance with respect
to the designation of the City Clerk as Secretary to the Agency in order to update
the Agency's bank signature cards and to allow the Agency to pay its bills.
The attached resolution designates the City Clerk as Secretary to the Agency.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the Agency adopt the attached resolution designating the
City Clerk as the Secretary to the Agency, and authorize the Chairwoman to execute
and the Executive Director to attest to the execution of the resolution.

A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DESIGNATING
THE CITY CLERK AS THE SECRETARY TO THE
AGENCY.
WHEREAS, by C~ty Council Ord~nance No. 1202 (CCSl, the
City Cauncll of the Clty of Santa Monlca designated the City Clerk
to be the Secretary of the Agency; and,
WHEREAS, in order to update Agency bank Slgnature cards,
it 1S necessary that the Agency ratify, by resolution, the des~gnat1on
of the City Clerk as Secretary to the Redevelopment Agency.
NON, THEREFORE, THE REDEVELOPHENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The C1ty Clerk of the Clty of Santa Honlca lS
hereby deslgnated as the Secretary of the Redevelopment Agency of the
City of Santa Nonlca.
SECTION 2. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of
this resolut1on, and thenceforth and thereafter the saFe shall be 1n
full force and effect.
