SUBJECT: Recommendation Regardlng Zoning of Recently Annexed
Land
Introductlon
ThlS report transmits the Plannlng Comm~ssion's recommendation
that the recently annexed properties commonly known as "Annexatlon
Number 7" be classifled in the Rl One Family Distrlct.
Background
On December 4, 1978 the Planning Commisslon in antLclpatlon of
the approval of the annexation of the area north of San Vlcente
Boulevard inltlated actlon to zone the area Rl. On February 5,
1979 a Public Hearlng was held followlng which the Commission
approved flndlngs and recommendations to the Clty Council that
the area be so classified.
Sectlon 9149 of the Santa Monlca Munlclpal Zoning Ordlnance pro-
vides that the Council may classlfy properties by ordlnance upon
recommendatlon by the Planning Commission.

Recornmendatlon
It LS respectfully recommended that the Clty Councll act favorably
upon the Commlssion's recommendation by dlrectlng the City Attorney
to prepare the necessary ordlnance and return it for Cauncll actlon
ln the usual course of procedure.

I, RUTH BENELL, Executive Officer of the Local Agency Forma-
tion CommissiOn of the County of Los Angeles, do hereby certify that I
have examined the attached resolution with respect to the inhabited/~
proposal designated as Annexation No.7 to the City of Santa Monica
(Detachment from the City of Los Angeles)
and have found said document to be in compliance with the resolution of
approval adopted by the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County
of Los Angeles on November 12, 1978 .
All of the information required by Section(s) 54797.2/56451 and 54900
et seq. of the Government Code is contained in the attached document and by
this reference incorporated herein. The affected territory shall/~
be taxed for any existing bonded indebtedness or contractual obligations.
