SUBJECT: Second Reading and Adoption of An Ordinance of the City Council of the
City of Santa Monica Adding Section 9.04.02.030.778 to Establish a
Definition of Short-term Rental Housing and Prohibiting This Form of
Housing Throughout The City
Introduction
At its meeting on March 9, 2004, the City Council introduced for first reading an
ordinance adding Santa Monica Municipal Code Section 9.04.02.030.778 to establish a
definition of short-term rental housing and prohibiting this form of housing in the City.
The ordinance is now presented to the City Council for adoption.
Recommendation
It is respectfully recommended that the accompanying ordinance be adopted.
