SUBJECT: An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Santa Monica Amending
Santa Monica Municipal Code Section 9.04.18.040 (Termination of
nonconforming buildings and uses) to Allow Existing Nonconforming
Commercial and Industrial Uses to Continue in the R1, R2, R2R, R3, R4,
RVC, OP-1, OP-2, OP-3, OP-4 and OP-Duplex Districts Through the
Extension or Renewal of a Conditional Use Permit or Use Permit
Introduction
At its meeting on July 10, 2001, the City Council introduced for first reading an ordinance
amending Santa Monica Municipal Code Section 9.04.18.040 (Termination of
nonconforming buildings and uses) to allow existing nonconforming commercial and
industrial uses to continue in the R1, R2, R2R, R3, R4, RVC, OP-1, OP-2, OP-3, OP-4 and
OP-Duplex Districts through the extension or renewal of a conditional use permit or use
permit. The ordinance is now presented to the City Council for adoption.
Recommendation
It is respectfully recommended that the accompanying ordinance be adopted.
