SUBJECT: Plannlng CommlSSlon Recommends Extenslon of Moratorlum
on Cooperatlve Apartments
Introductlon
ThlS report transmits the Plannlng CommlsSlonls recommendatlon
that the moratorlUffi on cooperatlve apartments presently scheduled
to end on May 14th be extended for an addltlonal 90 days to permit
fuller evaluatlon of the parklng requirements appropr~ate to co-
operatlve projects.
Background
On February 14th, the Clty Councll lmposed a 90 day moratorlum
on cooperatlve apartment proJects and requested the Plannlng Com-
mlssion to prepare a proposed ordlnance covering the constructlon
of cooperative apartments or converSlon of eXlsting apartments to
cooperatlves, The necessary ordinance has been prepared, a PubllC
Hearlng has been held by the Plannlng Commission and the ordlnance
revlewed In llght of the comments obtalned In the course of the
Hearlng. As a result the CommlSSlon believes addltional 1nfor-
matlon relatlng to appropriate parklng requirements for varYlng
cooperat1ve purposes 1S necessary and recommends that act10n on
the ord1nance be deferred to permlt completlon of a park1ng analysls
and that the present moratorlUffi be extended for another 90 days.

of Real Estate of this actlon.
