Introductlon
ThlS report transmlts the attached ordlnance for
second readlng and adoptlon.
Background
At lts meetlng of June 27, 1978, the City CounCll
requested an ordlnance amendlng the Munlclpal Code sectlons
pertalnlng to fees for varlOUS procedures and actlons In
connectlon wlth the land use, subdlvlslon, resldentlal
bUlldlng records, archltectural reVlew and landmarks and
hlstorlc dlstrlct ordlnances.
Subsequent to the July ll, 1978 Clty Councll
meetlng In WhlCh the attached ordinance was lntroduced, an
lnsertlon has been added to Sectlon 9620 WhlCh reads as
follows:

DISTRICT ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAi~TA BONICA
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Sectlon 9l5l of Chapter 1, Artlcle IX
of the Santa Monica Mun~c~pal Code 1S hereby aQended to read as
follows:
Section 9151. Fees. Before accepting for flllng
any application, or appeal hereinafter mentloned, the Admlnistrator
shall charge and collect the following fees:
Adjustment~: For each appllcatlon for an adJustment,
a fee of fifty dollars ($50.00).
Appeals. For each appeal to the Councilor Cowmlssion from
any actlon, a fee of seventy-five dollars ($75.00).
Change of District. For each applicatlon for a change of
district boundaries, a fee of five hundred dollars ($500.00).
.Change of Yard on Dlstricting Hap. For each applicatlon for
change of yard on the Districtlng Map, a fee of one hundred dol-
lars ($100.00).
Use Permit: For each application for a use permit, a fee
of two hundred and twenty-flve dollars ($225.00).
Condltlonal Use Permlt: For each appllcatlon for a condit~on-
al use permit, a fee of three hundred dollars ($300.00).
Varlances; For each appl~catlon for a variance, a fee of
two hundred and twenty-flve dollars ($225.00).
SECTION 2.
Sectlon 9204 of Chapter 2, Article IX
of the Santa Monlca Munic~pal Code is hereby amended to read as
follows:
a. The street address and legal description of
subJect property;
b. The zone clasSlflcat~on and authorlzed use as set
forth in this code;
c. The occupancy as lndlcated and establlshed by permits
of record:
d. Variances, conditional use permits, exceptions, and
other pertlnent legislative acts of record; and
e. Any special restrlctlons In use or development WhlCh
may apply to the subject property.
SECTION 3. Sectlon 9308E of Chapter 3, Artlcle IX
of the Santa Monica MUDlclpal Code is hereby arrended to read as
follo~s:
Sectlon 9308E. Fees. Upon flllng of a tentatlve
map with the Clry Planning Corr@~SSlon the applicant shall pay a
fee as follows;
A fee of three hundred dollars ($300.00) for the flrst seven
hundred (700) feetof frontage or fractlon thereof along both sldes
of any and all streets shown withln the subdivlsion. Upon fillng
of a final tract map wlth the Clty Planning Department the
appllcant shall pay a fee as follows: a fee of one hundred and
twenty-flve dollars ($125) for each of the lots, divlslons,
dwelllng units, condOffi1nlUill unlts, COIT@Un1ty apart~ents, coopera-
tlve apartments or slffillar separable deslgnatlons lncluded wlth-
In the subdlvlslons.
SECTION 4. Sectlon 9511 of Chapter 5, Artlcle IX of
the Santa MODlca Munlcpal Code lS hereby amended by the additlon

be invalld or unconstltutlonal by a declslon of any court of
co~petent ]urlsdlctlon, suc~ declslon shall not affect the
valldlty of the remalnlng portlo~S of the ordln~nce. The
Clty Councll hereby declares that It would have passed thlS

shall cause the same to be publlshed once In the offlclal news-
paper wlthlD flfteen (15) days after lts adoption. The ordlnance
shall become effectlve after thlrty (30) days froM ltS adoption.
