ln fences In res1dentlal, connerC1al and manufacturlng zones.
ANALYSIS
ThlS ordinance was relntroduced by the Clty Counc11 at
ltS March 10, 1981 meetlng, Agenda Item 6-C.
It was amended to
(1) permlt strand barbed Wlre above SlX feet In both manufacturlng
and commerclal zones; and (2) provlde a hardshlp exemotlon to
allow a fence or wall of strand barbed W1Te in a resldentla1 zone
upon a deter~lnatlon by the BU11dlng Offlcer and the BUlldlng and
Safety Co~mlSSlon on appeal, that such fence or wall lS necessary
to prevent exposure to extraordlnar~ rlsk of loss from crlme or
Slmllar undue hardshlp and that hazard to persons would not result.
The ordlnance requlres COQpllanCe wlth lts provlslons
wlthln 30 davs froQ adoptlon for electrlcally energlzed fences and
wlthln 180 days for all other fences.
