Introductlon
ThlS report forwards to the C1ty Councll the Plannlng Commisslonrs
recommendatlon on the proposed Ml-A Special Industrlal Dlstrlct.
Background
In adoptlng lts resolutlon of lntentlon to amend the comprehenslve
ordlnance (Resolutlon 6385CCS), the Clty Counell lncluded the
Comrnerclal and Industrial Task Force recommendatlon that a new
MI-A dlstrlct be created.
The new zoning dlstrlct would have the same prOV1Slons as the
M-I--Llmlted Industrlal Distrlct except that there would be a
361 helght llIDlt and a requlrement that at least 10% of the
slte be landscaped. The Ml distrlct has a 45' helght Ilmlt
and no landscape regulrement. The purpose of thlS MI-A dlstrlct
was to create a zone that could serve as a buffer between the
uses In the Clty'S lndustrlal ccrrldor and the uses ln the
adJacent resldentlal dlstrlcts.
The Plannlng ComrnlSSlon held a publlC hearlng on the matter on
January 4, 1982, at WhlCh no one from the public wlshed to speak
on the ltem.

Recommendatlon
The Plannlng Commlssion respectfully reco~~ends that Sectlon
9120D be added for thlS zonlng and that lt read as follows:
Section 9120D "MI-A" Soeclal Industrlal
Dlstrlct Regulations. The regulatlons
set forth In Sections 9I2DA, 9l20B, and
9120C shall apply to the "MI-A" Speclal
Industrlal Dlstrlct except that no
bUlldlng or structure erected In the
"HI-A" Dlstrlct shall have a he1ght
greater than thlrty-slx feet (36')
and not less than ten-percent (10%) of
any bUlldlng slte shall be devoted to
landscaplng.
