Recommendation to Change Authorized signers for
civic AUditorium Trust Account
INTRODUCTION
This is to recommend that the City Council adopt the attached
resolution to include the Director of Cultural and Recreation
Services and the Director of Finance as authorized signers for
the City of Santa Monica civic Auditorium Trust Account.
DISCUSSION
The City maintains a separate account at First Interstate Bank of
California for the use by the Civic Auditorium for box office
proceeds which is known as the "Auditorium Box Office Trust
Account". This account is necessary to temporarily hold
event-generated proceeds which are to be shared between the
producers of the events and the city. Pursuant to a previous
City council resolution, the authorized signers on this account
are the Civic Auditorium Manager, the City Treasurer, and the
city Manager.
However, in the event of absence of the Civic Auditorium Manager,
it is recommended that the Director of Cultural and Recreation
Services be able to sign on this account. In addition, to be
consistent with all other account signature descriptions, the

city Manager would be deleted and replaced by the Director
of Finance.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached
resolution authorizing the civic Auditorium Manager, the
Director of CUltural and Recreation Services, the Director of
Finance, and the City Treasurer to sign for the City of Santa
Monica Box Office Trust Account.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF

BY THB CIVIC AUDZTORIUM OF A CHECKING ACCOUNT IN
THE NAKB OF AUDITORIUM BOX OFFICB TRUST ACCOUNT
WITH FIRST INTERSTATE BANK.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Resolutions Nos. 4243 (CCS), 4564 (CCS), 5308
CCCS), and 7616 (CCS) be and hereby are superseded.
SECTION 2. That the Civic Auditorium of the city of Santa
Monica is hereby authorized to establish an account in the name
of "Auditorium Box Office Trust Account" with First Interstate
Bank upon such terms and conditions as are provided by the
statutes of the State of California governing public deposits.
SECTION 3. That the Civic Auditorium Manager, the Director of
Cultural and Recreation Services, the Director of Finance, and
the city Treasurer are hereby authorized to deposit funds in said
account, and to withdraw funds from said account upon warrants
and/or checks signed by an incumbent of said positions with
signature duly certified to such bank by the city of Santa
Monica, and said bank hereby is authorized to honor and pay such
warrants and/or checks so signed.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
