Th~s report concerns a proposal to ~ncrease park~ng fees at the ClV~C
Aud~tor~um by amend~ng Seet~on 6 of Resolut~on 3579 (eeS) and requests
C~ty Counc~l approve the proposed amendment as subrntted.

In May of 1980 park~ng fees at the Civie Aud~tor~um were ~ncreased to
$2.00. Th~s fee ~s lnCOnS1.stent w~th other recreational park~ng In the
area wh~ch ~s currently at $3.00.
ProJect~ons for FY 1981-82 are 60,000 ears or $120,000 at $2.00. If
the Aud~tor~um parklng rate ~s ~ncreased to $3.00 th~s would mean FY 1982-83
revenue w~th an equal number of cars would be $180,000 or an ~ncrease of
$60,000.
(County employees w1.11 not be affected by th1.s ~nerease.)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
Sfu~T~ MONICA &~NDI~G TEE REGULATIONS ~OR THE
ADMINISTRATION OF THE CIVIC AUDITORIUM
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF S.A..~TA MONICA DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE THAT THE REGULATIONS FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE CIVIC
AUDITORIUM SHALL BE AMENDED AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That ,Section 6 (Parking Lot) of Resolution 3579
(CCS) be amended as follows:
The City reserves the right to maintain and operate the Aud~torium
parking lots located within the area under the supervision and control
of the Director. City may contract with a person, or persons, for
the private operation of said parking lots on a flat monthly basis or
on a percentage of gross rece~pts derived from all sources from such
operation. Available parking space may be rented at a fee not to
exceed three dollars ($3.00l per automob~le space per period of
occupancy, not to exceed twelve {12l hours. Parking for Auditorium
events shall have precedence over parking for the general public,
includ~ng City employees.
Notwithstanding any provisions herein contained, City may grant free
use of said parking lots to the general public.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this reSOlution, and thenceiorth and thereafter the same shall be ~n
full force and effect.
