Introductlon
Thls report recommends that the Redevelopment Agency adopt the
attached resolutlon establlshlng the Percent for Art program for
thls agency.
Background
At lts meetlng on Aprll 24, Clty Council adopted a resolutlon
establlshlng the Percent for Art Program.
In ord er that thl s
program lnclude redevelopment proJects; the Clty Attorney has
advlsed the Arts Commlsslon that the Redevelopment Agency must
also adopt the resolutlon.
Budget/Flnanclal Impact
As the FY 1984-85 budget has not yet been adopted, 1t 1S not
poss1ble to determlne the exact flnanclal lmpact of th1S program
on the Redevelopment Agency at thls tlme.
However, the entlre
Percent for Art budget proposal w1Il be detalled In the Arts
CommlSSlon'S Annual Art Plan.

THE CITY OF Sro;;TA HONICA. ADOPTING
PERCENT FOR ART PROGRN1
~~iEREAS, the Clty Cauncll of the City of Santa Monica has
establlshed an Arts Comml-ssion to carry out certain speclfled
purposes; and
WHEREAS, the Arts Commlssions has recommended that the City
Cauncll af the City of Santa Monica adopt a Percent for the Art
Pr9gram; and
WHEREAS, by Resolutlon Nu~ber 6854 (CCs) the City Council
of the Cl- ty of Santa Monica has adopted a Percent for the Art
Program; and
WHEREAS. the Redevelop"'.1ent Agency of the City of Santa
Monlca deslres to make the Percent for the Art PrograR appllc~ble
to capl-tal proJects that It carries out,

SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS~

The Percent for Art Prograr.>. adopted by the
City Councll of the City of Santa Honica by Resolution NUPlbe'C
6854 (CCS), is hereby made applicable to the Redevelopnent Agency
of the Clty of Santa Mon~ca.
