SUBJECT: Fourth of July F1reworks on State Beach
Introduct1on
Th1s report is subm1tted 1n response to formal requests of the
Jonathan Club and Sand and Sea Club, through the C1.ty's Event
Management Team, to conduct fireworks d1splays on the Fourth of
July on State Beach.
Background
At 1t'S reqularly scheduled meeting of October 11, 1983, the C1ty
Council establlshed the polley that, aside from the Mun1c1pal
sponsored Fourth of July flreworks, Counc11 approval would be
requ1r~d for speclal flreworks events.
Both the Sand and Sea Club and the Jonathan Club have applied,
through the C1 ty IS Event Mangement Team, to conduct Fourth of
July f1reworks d1splays. The Event Management Team is referring
th1s request to Counc1l for approval.
In the past, both Clubs have met all perml.t requirements and
received approval for f1reworks d1splays from both the F1re De-
partment, and the Recreat10n and Parks Department. Both dlsplays

several years.
