SUBJECT: Community BUlldlng - Virglnia Avenue Park
Introduction
ThlS report requests Clty Council approval of the sch~matic drawings of the
Community Buildlng at Vlrglnla Avenue Park and to appropriate an addltlonal
$85,000.
Background
The City Council approprlated $270,000 for the construction of a ~500 square
fout Communlty Building at Virginla Avenue Park ln tne 1979-1980 budget. lhe
architect estiwates the construction cost to be $355,000.
The plans that are submitted to Councl J have been approved, following publlC
hearlng, by the Recreation and ParKS Ccmmisslon and the Architectural Revlew
Board.
Recorrar.endation
Staff recommends the Council approve the plans as submltted, and authorize the
preparation of worklng drawings and speclficatlons, and approprlate $85,000 from
the MAR reser~e funds for the construction of thlS project.
