Funds for the program are derived from federal recreation fees,
sales of federal surplus real praper~y, the federal motorboat
fuels tax, and the Outer Continental Shelf mineral receipts.
Local agencies eligible ta share in the funds are caunties,
cities, recreation and parks districts and special districts with
authority to acquire, daveiap, operate, and maintain public park
and recreation areas. Eligible items include support facilities
such as restrooms. This propasal is far the development of a new
restroom facility at Stewart Street Park.
This is a reimburs~ment program. The City is expected to finance
the entire project (currently part of the projected Phase IV
Development for the Stewart Street Park). Fifty percent of the
actual expenditures up to the support ceiling of the grant will
be refunded when the project has been completed, if the grant is
approved.
BUDGET/F~NANCIAL IMPACT
The allocation will represent an increase in budgeted revenues
available to the City. The current projected cost for this
restroom facility is $95,000. An allocation of fif~y p~rcent

the total cost of this construction.
