SUBJECT: Installatwn of Play Equi!1'll€Ilt and Benches - Ozone Park
Introduction
This report requests Council approval of the installation of play equipnent and
benches at Ozone Park, and requests an additional $5,000 be appropriated for
equipnent costs.

In the 1981-82 Park Division budget, there is $5,000 encunbered under capital
improvements for Ozone Park. After a series of cuil.lilJl1ity meetings. it was dec1.ded to
spend the available funds to purchase bID contOill'" ~ bEnches and. ThU rocker toys
for the tot lot on the ,vest end of the park; and one metal/timber cOOlplex for the
tot lot on the east end of the park. No changes in design of the park space are
belllg proposed at this time.
The initial installation will include a series of decks leading up to a spiral slide,
an arch cl:nnber. and a slide pole. An existing metal climbing apParatus will be
ranoved to make way for this project.

Wlth the recullllendation to Council that an additional $5,000 be appropriated for the
purchase of equipnent. (See attached.) Therefore, the total project cost will be
$10,000. This itan ".;rill be presented be.fore the ARB on July 7. 1982.

at Ozone Park. and appropriate an additional $5.000 fraIl the 1982-83 CDEG Contingency
Fund for the pl.ITchase of equipment.
