SUBJECT: Award of Contract to Construct High Pressure Sodium
Tennis Court Lighting System at Marine Park.
Introduction
ThlS report requests that the City Council award a contract to
construct a high pressure sodium tennis court lighting system at
Marine
Park to
Pacific General
Contractors,
the
lowest
responsible bidder, in the amount of $37,959.23.
Background
The city Council approved funding for improvements to Marine Park
as part of the FY 1986-87 budget.
Improvements include
installation of a high pressure sodium tennis court lighting
system. Plans and specifications for the constructlon of these
improvements were prepared by the City Engineer1s off1ce.
A Notice Inviting Bids was published on March 29 and 30, 1988, in
the Evening Outlook, four construction journals, and sent to
seven DBE Associations. Plans and specifications were issued to
fourteen contractors. Bids were received and read publ icly on
April 29, 1988, by the Deputy City Clerk.

2. Authorize the City Engineer to issue any necessary change
orders to complete additional work in conformance with the
Administrative Instructions.
