Introduction
ThlS staff report requests Councll approval of the design for the play area at Joslyn
Park and the authorizatlon to call for bids for thlS proJect.
Background
Council approved $24,000 ,n CDBG Funds for the renovation of the play area at Joslyn
Park in the 1980-81 budget. Staff has met wlth the Ocean Park Community Organlzation
and dlscussed their deslres for the type of play equ1pment to be 1nstal1ed there. The
Ocean Park Community Organlzation conducted a survey of the Ocean Park area to determine
their recommendation to staff for th,s proJect. This proJect was reviewed by the
Recreation and Parks Commlss10n at the1r October 16 meeting. The layout for the proposed
installatlon will be at the Councll meetlng for Council review and It wll1 also be In
the Recreation and Parks D1rector's office for Council reV1ew prior to that meetlng.

and authorize the Clty Manager to call for bids for thlS prOJect.
2. Councll may reject the proposed deslgn for the play area atJoslyn Park and request
further deslgn.
Recommendation
Staff recommends Alternatlve No.1, that the Councl1 approve the proposed deslgn as
presented for the play area at Joslyn Park, and authorlze the C1ty Manager to call for
bids for the equlpment and 1nstallation of thlS equ1pment at the Joslyn Park play area.
