SUBJECT: Ordinance Amending the Santa Monica Municipal Code to Amend the
Definition of Park Facility and to Prohibit Golfing in City Parks
Introduction
At its meeting on July 27, 2004, the City Council introduced for first reading an
ordinance amending the Municipal Code definition of Park Facility to provide better
protection for park hardscape and adding a section to the Code to prohibit golfing in City
parks. The ordinance is now presented to the City Council for adoption.
Recommendation
It is respectfully recommended that the accompanying ordinance be adopted.
