SUBJECT: Additlon to Senlor Recreatlon Center
lntroductlon
ThlS report reauests the approval of schematic drawlngs for the construction
of the addltlon to the Senlor Recreatlon Center, and authorlzation to prepare
worklng drawlngs and speclflcatlons for the construction of the project and
appllcatlon for Coastal Commission Permit.
Background
The Clty Councll approprlated $75,000 of CDBG funds for the constructlon of
a 1500 square foot addltion to the Senlor Recreation Center, The archltect
es timates of 5123,000 1 nd i cates that the funds are 1 nsufficl en t for thl s proJect.
The plans submltted to Councll hFve been approved after publlC hearlng by the
Recreatlon and Parks Commlsslon and Archltectural ReVlew Board Appllcation
for Coastal Commlssion aoproval wlll follow Council approval.
The archltect wlll provlde for solar retroflttlng ln the design and worklng
drawlngs and speclflcations
RecommendatlOns
St8ff recommends the Councll approve the plans as submltted and authorlze the
preparation of working drawlngs and speclflcatlons, applications for Coastal
Commlsslon approval and the call for blds. Upon reVlew of the submitted bids
staff may need to return to Council to request an additional approprlatlon from
