Introduction
This report requests Council approval of the working drawlngs and speclficatlons
for the addltion to the Senlor Recreatlon Center and Beach Restroom, and requests
authorlzatlon to call for blds to construct each,
]Lackground
The C1ty Council appropriated $75,000 from CDBG funds for constructlon of a 1500
square foot addltion to the Sen10r Recreat10n Center. Solar retroflttlng has been
provlded for in the deslgn as requested by Councll. Council appropriated $80,000 for
the construction of a new beach restroom to replace a deteriorated restroom facllity
ln Bay Street Park.
The C1ty Councll later approved schematic drawings and authorlzed preparation of
working draw1ngs and specifications for the construction of both proJects
Public input has been received on the Senior Center addit1on. The Architectural
Review Board, Coastal Commission and Recreation and Parks Commission have reviewed
and approved both projects.
The plans and speclf1catlons are available in the Recreation and Park Director's
off1ce and wlll be available at the Councll meetlng for Counc11 's reVlew.
Recommendation
1. Staff recommends Councll approve the plans and specifications as submitted and
authorize the call for bids to construct the addltion to the Senior Recreatlon Center.
