amend1ng Sectlon 7151 of the Santa Honlca rlunlclpal Code to
allow rates for te~porary use of publlC property to be set by
Resolution.
BACKGROUND
'1'h15 ordlnFlnce was l'1troGuced by Counell as Item 8E at lts
December 10, 1980 meeting, contlnued from lts December 9, 1980 meetlng.
The fees set by Sectlon 7151 ($.10 per sauare foot) have no
relatlon to e1ther the adninstratlve cost lnvolved In issulnq and
pollcinq thlS permlt or the rental value of the land. ThlS pro-
posed ordlnance requlres pernlts, but allows the fees to be set
by Resolutlon so they ~ay be ?erlodjcallv adJusted.
A re501utJon settlnq these pernit fees at $.50 per square
foot, wlth a $50.00 mlnlmu~, lS attached, to be adopted at thlS tlne.
RECO~l'1ENDATION
It lS respectfuJly reco~nended the CouDell adopt thlS
ordlnance allo~lng perMlt fees for teMporary use of publlC
property to be set by Resolutlon and adopt the Resolutlon sett1ng
those fees.
