One (1) New 27,000 Gross Vehicle Weight Rated (GVWR)
Cab and Chassis With 50 ft. Articulated Personnel Lift,
Bid #2246
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (1)
new 27,000 gross vehicle weight rated (GVWR) cab and chassis with
50 ft. articulated personnel lift for the Parks Division,
Cultural and Recreation Service Department, in the total amount
of $68,118.47, including applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
September 14 and 15, 1989) to furnish and deliver one (1) new
27,000 gross vehicle weight rated (GVWR) cab and chassis with
50 ft. articulated personnel lift in accordance with City
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read
on October 12, 1989. Proposal forms were mailed to nine vendors
and notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter and
Municipal Code provisions.

Bebco $84,956.12
This vehicle will be used for tree trimming. The reason for the
spread in the above quoted prices is due to the difference in
manufacturer. staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it
meets city specifications.
BUdget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1989/90 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the capital Improvement Program budget, Recreation and
Cultural Services category, account number 01-740-511-22690-
8913-99176, "Replace Tower Truck."
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2246 be made to Pac
Power, Inc. in the total amount of $68,118.47, including
applicable tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
