One (1) New 11,000 Gross Vehicle Weight Rated (GVWR)
Cab and Chassis With Dump-Type Stake Body, Bid #2245
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (1)
new 11,000 gross vehicle weight rated (GVWR) cab and chassis with
dump-type stake body for the Civic Auditorium Division, Cultural
and Recreation Services Department, in the total amount of
$18,418.11, including applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
september 18 and 19, 1989) to furnish and deliver one (1) new
11,000 gross vehicle weight rated (GVWR) cab and chassis with
dump-type stake body in accordance with City specifications, bids
were received and publicly opened and read on October 17, 1989.
Proposal forms were mailed to ten vendors and notices were
advertised in accordance with city Charter and Municipal Code
provisions. Three proposals were received as follows:

This vehicle will be used as a utility truck to replace one (1)
1979 truck. Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it
meets City specifications.
BUdget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1989/90 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the civic AUditorium Division; Cultural and Recreation
Services Department, account number 32-420-621-00000-8806-00000.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2245 be made to Santa
Monica Ford in the total amount of $18;418.11; including
app1icable tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
