SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid for Tire Recapping Services
Bid No. 1670
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for routine t~re recapping
serv~ces for the period October I, 1981 through September 30,l
1982 at the unit prices bid. Funds for this purchase have been
budgeted in account number 01-500-461-000-293 (Mechanical Main-
tenance)
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting B~ds for Truck Tire Re-
capp~ng Services in accordance with City spec~fications, bids were re-
ce~ved and publ~cly opened and read on September 17, 1981. Proposal
forms were mailed to nine recappers and notices were advertised
in accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions.
Three proposals were received as shown on the attached schedule.
Recommendation
It ~s recommended that the award be made to Johnny Gillette Tire
Co., Long Beach, Californla at the unit prices quoted, as the
lowest and best bidder.
