Recommendation to Award Bid for Replacing Fire Engine
Transmission. Bid No. 1656.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for the replacement of an
Allison Transmission in a City Fire apparatus truck, in the
total net amount of $9,742.83 including applicable sales tax.
Funds for this purchase have been budgeted in account number
01-300-311-000-292.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to remove and re-
place one Allison Transmission in the City's Fire apparatus # 203
in accordance with City specifications, bids were received and
publicly opened and read on September 17, 1981. Proposal forms
were mailed to five firms and not~ces were advertised in accordance
with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Four proposals
were received as noted on the attached schedule.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Crovm Coach Corp.
Los Angeles, California in the total net amount of $9,742.83,
including tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
