SUBJECT: Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver Nine Police Package Sedans, Bid #2876.
Introduction
This report recommends award of bid to furnish and deliver nine police package sedans for
the Office of Administrative Services Division, Police Department, in the total amount of
$ 198,422.16, including applicable sales tax.
Background
The gasoline-powered sedans will be used by the Police Department for routine police
duties and emergency response. They will replace eight sedans, model years 1994
through 1999, which are no longer cost effective to maintain due to high mileage. A ninth
sedan is being replaced due to excessive mileage and extensive damage incurred in a
traffic accident. Self insurance funds are available to replace this totaled vehicle. The
purchase of gasoline-powered emergency response vehicles is acceptable under the
City’s reduced emission policy.
