Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for a 32-foot lift boom
in the total amount of $29,155.30 includ~ng applicable sales
tax. Funds for this purchase are available ~n ac~ount number
Ol-~OO-4l3-000-801 (Parkin& ~ lraffic Division)
Background
In response to published Notice Invit~ng Bids to furnish and
install one telescoping lift boom in accordance with City
specifications, bids were received and publ~cly opened and
read November 5, 1981. Proposal forms were mailed to twelve
dealers and notices were advertised in accordance with City
Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Two proposals were
received as follows.

Purchase of Pelican Man L~ft
The Parklng and Traff~c Dlvis~on budgeted $28,000
for a Pelican Man Lift. The lift 1S to be used by
the Traff~c Slgnal Electr~cian to ma1ntain and repalr
traffic signals.
Bids have been received for the pellcan Man Lift in
the Purchasing Department. The low bld was for $29,155.
The Parklng and Traffic D1V1S1on has budgeted $10,000
for a replacement vehlcle for the parking meter repalr-
men. It 18 anticipated there wll1 be sav1ngs from the
purchase of th~s veh~cle to offset the add~tlonal costs
of the Pel1can Man Llft.
