SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid for Plastic Pails for the
City Curbside Recycl~ng Program. Bid No. 1696
Introduction
This report concerns award of b~d for plastic pails in the
total amount of $25,047.80 including applicable sales tax.
Funds for this purchase have been budgeted in account number
27-500-443-000-401
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver 17000 five gallon plastic pails in accordance with
City specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and
read November 10, 1981. Proposal forms were mailed to nine
vendors and notices were advertised in accordance with City
Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Two proposals were
received as listed below.

Recommendat~on
It is recommended that the award be made to Norton Containers
in the total amount of $25,047.80, including tax, as the lowest
and best bidder
