SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid for 39,000 Gross Vehicle
Weig~t Dump Truck. Bid No. 1690
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for one new 39,000 GVW dump truck
and front loader in the total amount of $61,679.89 including
applicable sales tax Funds for this purchase have been budgeted
in account number 25-500-671-000-807,804,808,811 and 807.

Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver one new dump truck with loader in accordance with
City specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and
read October 29, 1981 Proposal forms were mailed to fourteen
dealers and notices were advertised in accordance with City
Charter and Municipal Code provisions. One proposal was
received from International Harvester Co., in the total amount
of $61,679.89 including applicable taxes.
Recommendation
It is recommended that award be made to International Harvester
Co.. Los Angeles, California in the total amount of $61,679.89,
including tax, as the lo~es ~_~nd best bidder.
