Recommendation to Award Bid for Bus Brake Bolts

Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for approximately 20,000
bus brake bolts for the period June 1, 1982 through May
31, 1983 at the unit prlces quoted. Funds for this purchase
are aval1able from account number 41-600-654-000-422 (Trans-
portation)
~ackground
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids (published
April 25, 1982) to furnlsh and deliver approximately 20,000
bus brake bolts in accordance with City specifications,
b1ds were rece1ved and publicly opened and read on May
6, 1982. Proposal forms were mailed to S1X vendors and
notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter and
Municipal Code provisions Three proposals were received
as follows.

Muncie Reclamation & Supply Unit Price $l4.00/c
Hausman Bus Sales & Parts Company Unit Price $14.56/c
Reconnnendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Graham Brake &
Diesel, Chatsworth, Ca11fornia,at the unlt price of $13.80 per
hundred for the period from June 1, 1982 through May 31, 1983,
as the lowest and best bidder
