SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver
Miscellaneous Janitorial Supplies, Bid #2109
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver miscel-
laneous janitorial supplies at specified unit prices plus ap-
plicable sales taxes for a one year period.
13ackground
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published April
17,18, 1987) to furnish and deliver miscellaneous janitorial
supplies in accordance with city specifications, bids were
received and publicly opened and read on April 28, 1987. Pro-
posal forms were mailed to five vendors and notices were adver-
tised in accordance with city Charter and Municipal Code provi-
sions. Two proposals were received as follows:
COST OF A REPRESENTATIVE ARRAY OF MISCELLANEOUS JANITORIAL
SUPPLIES
GALE SUPPLY CO. (WMBE) - $6,721.00
WAXIE/KLEENLINE CORP. (WMBE) - $8,291.28
Both bids meet or exceed the specifications on all the products
specified.
