Introductlon
ThlS report concerns award of bld for Transit M1X, Portland Ce-
ment for the Street D~V1Slon of the General Serv~ces Department
at the unlt prlce excluding appllcable sales tax, for the perlod
December 1, 1985 through November 30, 1986.
Background
In response to publ~shed Notlces Invlt~ng Blds (publ~shed Novem-
ber 1-2, 1985) to furn~sh and del1ver Translt M~x, Portland Ce-
ment ln accordance wlth Clty speclflcatlons. b~ds were rece~ved
and publlCly opened and read on November 21, 1985. Proposal
forms were mal led to three vendors and notices were advert~sed 1n
accordance wlth Clty Charter and Mun1c1pal Code prov~sions. One
proposal was recelved as follows:

~47.75 per yard del1vered,
$39.95 per yard FOB plant
The b~d was based on an estlmated usage of 800 CUblC yards of
Transit M1X, Portland Cement durlng a one year per10d of t~me.

BUdgetary/Financlal Impact
Fiscal Year 1985-8b approprlat1on authorlty for th1S purchase 15
in the Street Dlv1510n of the General Servlces Department, ac-
count number 01-500-421-000-414. For the per10d of July 1, 1986
through November 30, 1986, the approprlat1on author1ty wlll be as
set forth in the Flscal Year 1986-87 budget.
Recornmendatlon
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2036 be made to Symons
Corporatlon d/b/a Llvingston Graham, Irwlndale, Callfornla at the
un1t pr1ces b1d, excludlng tax, as the lowest and best bldder.
