SUBJECT' Recommendation to Award Bid for Air, Fuel, and Oil
Fllters. Bid No. 1753
Introductlon
This report concerns award of bid for air, fuel and oil filters for
the Transportation and Mechanical Maintenance Departments at
the unit prices quoted for the period of July 1, 1982 through June
30, 1983 Pending approval of the Fiscal 1982-83 budget, this purchase
will be expended from account number 41-955-100-000-00Jt(IE~ns~ortati~
(81-500-461-000-292) (Mechanical Maintenance)
Background
In response to publlshed Notice Inviting Bids (publ1shed 4-27-82)
to furnlsh and deliver various filters in accordance with City
specificat1ons, bids were received and publicly opened and read
June I, 1902 Proposal forms were mailed to thirty vendors and
notlces were advertised in accordance with City Charter and Municipal
Code provisions. Six proposals were received per the attached unit
price schedule.
Recommendation
It lS reconrrnended that the award be made on Item {ft 1 to Graham
Brake and Diesel Item # 2 to Filter Supply Co , Items # 3,7,12,13,
14,15,16,17,18,19,20,23,24,25,27,28,29,30,31,32,33,34,35,36,39 to
Mr. Parts, Division of Sunbe1t Items #4,8,9,10,11,21,22,37 to
Interestate filter Service Inc., and items # 5,6,26,38 to Hausman
Bus Sales and Parts Company, at the unit prices bid for the period
July 1, 1982 through June 30, 1983 as the lowest and best bidders
in each instance.
