Introduct1on
Th1S report concerns award of bld for one 80,000 GCWR Truck Trac-
tor for the Waste Col1ection/Dlsposal Division of the General
SerVlces Department ~n the total amount of $61,072.43, lncludlng
appl1cable sales tax.
Background
In response to publ1shed Notlces Invltlng Blds (publlshed Novem-
ber 14-15, 1985) to furnish and de11ver one 80,000 GCWR Truck
Tractor ~n accordance wlth Clty spec1f1catlons. b1ds were
received and publ~cly opened and read on November 26, 1985. Pro-
posal forms were mal led to fourteen vendors and not1ces were ad-
vert1sed 1n accordance w1th City Charter and Mun~c1pal Code pro-
v~sions. Three proposals were recelved as follows:

$64,543.26
The low b1d from Mack Truck, Inc. meets or exceeds our specifica-
t10ns. Staff recommends that the bld be awarded to the low b1d-
der, Mack Truck, Inc.

Recommendatlon
It is recommended that the award of B1d #2021 be made to Mack
Truck, Inc., Los Angeles, Cal1fornia 1n the total amount of
$61,072.43 includlng tax, as the lowest and best b1dder.
