SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish Hot Asphaltic
concrete paving Mixes, Bid #2107
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish hot asphaltic con-
crete paving mixes for the street Division, General Services De-
partment per specified unit prices including applicable sales tax
for a one year period.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published April
14,15, 1987) to furnish hot asphaltic concrete paving mixes in
accordance with city specifications, bids were received and
publicly opened and read on April 28, 1987. Proposal forms were
mailed to three vendors and notices were advertised in accordance
with city Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Three proposals
were received as follows:

Staff has reviewed the low bid and finds that it meets
specifications.
BUdgetary/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1986/87 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the street Division, General Services Department, account num-
ber 01-500-421-000-414.
Fiscal Year 1987/88 appropriation au-
thority will be as set forth in the fiscal year 1987/88 City
budget.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2107 be made to In-
dustrial Asphalt per specified unit prices including tax, as the
lowest and best bidder.
