SUBJECT Reconrrnendation To Award Bid For Rebuilt Transmissions for
the Hechanlcal Haintenance Department. Bid No 1746
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for rebuilt truck transmissions
at the unit prices quoted for the period of August 1, 1982 through
July 31, 1983. Funds for this purchase have been budgeted in account
number 01-500-461-000-292.
Background
In response to published ~otice Invlting Bids to furnish and deliver
rebuilt transmis~ons in accordance with City specificatins, bids were
received and publicly opened and read May 27, 1982. Proposal forms
were mal led to nine vendors and notices were advertised ~n accordance
with Clty Charter and Mun~cipal Code provisions. Six valid proposals
were rece~ved per attached unit price schedule.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Ray Kelly on items # 1& 3,
to Associated Truck on ltem #2, to Assoclated Diesel on item # 4, and
to Lawless Detroit Diesel on items # 5&6,at the unit prlces bid for the
per~od of August 1, 1982 through July 31, 1983 as the lowest and best
bidders.
