Introduction
This report concerns award of bld for IBM cards ln the total amount
of $10,511 55 including applicable sales tax Funds for this
purchase have been budgeted in account number 01-100-223-000-41l
(Data Processing)
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids (published 7-1-32)
to furnlsh and deliver 1,000,000 IBM cards for Library circulation
control in accordance with City speclfications, bids were recelved
and publicly opened and read on July 13, 1982 Proposal forms
were mailed to ten vendors and notices were advertised in accordance
wlth City Charter and Municipal Code provisions One proposal
was received as follows
GLOBE TICKET CO $ 9.87/ A plus tax
Globe Ticket Company has been the onln Jldder on this requirement
ror the last two bids This is a special sized IBM card with special
marklngs which apparently Globe Ticket lS able to produce most
advantageously in the market The rate bid by G" Jbe is consistant
with the market
Reconnnenda tlon
It is recommended that the award be made to Globe Ticket Co , Compton,
California in the total amount of $10,511 55, including tax, as
the lowest and best bidder
