SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver One
(1) Diesel Powered Forklift, Bid #2106
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one die-
sel powered forklift for the Transportation Department in the
total amount of $17,014.44 including applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published April
15, 16, 1987) to furnish and deliver one (1) diesel powered fork-
lift in accordance with City specifications, bids were received
and publicly opened and read on April 28, 1987. proposal forms
were mailed to eight vendors and notices were advertised in ac-
cordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Three
proposals were received as follows:

JOHNSON LIFT
staff has evaluated the low bid submitted by Magna Forklift Inc.
and finds that it meets bid specifications.

Budgetary/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1986/87 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Transportation Department, account number 41-600-658-000-
806.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2106 be made to Magna
Forklift Inc. in the total amount of $17,014.44 including tax, as
the lowest and best bidder.
