Introductlon
ThlS report concerns award of b1d for l11um1nated and non-
11lumlnated signs for the Park1ng and Traff1c Englneerlng Divl-
Slon of the General Serv1ces Department ln the total amount of
$70,497.68, includlng applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to publlshed Notlces Inv1ting Blds (publ1shed Decem-
ber 26 and 27,1985) to furnish and del1ver 111umlnated and non-
lllumlnated slgns In accordance wlth C1ty spec1f1cations, blds
were recelved and publicly opened and read on January 30, 1986.
Proposal forms were mal led to eleven vendors and not1ces were
advertised ln accordance wlth City Charter and Munlcipal Code
provls1on. Two proposals were rece1ved as follows:

The 435 non-ll1umlnated and 16 111umlnated slgns, are deslgnated
for Parklng Structures 1,2,3,4 and 5. The slgns were designed
accordlng to the speclf1cat1ons set out by the graphlc deslgn
f1rm of Beck and Grabowski. These slgns have also been submitted
to the deslgn review process. They are Slm11ar to the signs
des1gned and 1nstal1ed 1n Parklng structure No.6. The low bld-
der on the illum1nated and non-illumlnated signs accordlng to the
speclflcations lS Windsor Display Inc.
Budgetary/FlnanClal Impact
Fiscal Year 1985/86 appropr1at1on authority for thlS purchase lS
in the Streets, Parklng and Traffic Capitol Budget category, ac-
count number 77-770-610-000-907, "Parking Structure Upgrade".
Recommendatlon
It lS recommended that the award of Bld #2042 be made to
Wlndsor Dlsplays 1n the total amount of $70,497.68, lncluding
tax, as the lowest and best bldder.
