SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver
Cotton Rags, Bid #2121
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver cotton
rags at specified unit prices plus applicable sales tax for a one
year period, including a one year renewal option.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published June
25, 26, 19B7) to furnish and deliver cotton rags in accordance
with City specifications, bids were received and publicly opened
and read on July 16, 1987. Proposal forms were mailed to ten
vendors and notices were advertised in accordance with city
Charter and Municipal Code provisions.
Three proposals were
received as follows:

staff has reviewed the bids and finds that Economy Mart meets our

Fiscal Year 1987/88 appropriation authority for this purchase is
materials are drawn out of inventory r they will be expensed
against available FY 1987/88 appropriation authority.
For the
period July 1, 1988 thru August 14, 1988, appropriation authority
will be as set forth in the FY 1988/89 budget.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2121 be made to Economy
Mart at specified unit prices plus applicable sales tax, includ-
ing a one year renewal option, as the lowest and best bidder.
