Watering Tank For The Parks Dlvlsion of the Fecreat~on
and Parks Department, Bid # 2047.
Introduction
Th~s report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (I)
10/S00 GVW Cab and Chass1s wlth Watering Tank for the Parks D~-
vision of the Fecreat10n and Parks Department 1n the total amount
of $21/917.13, includlng appllcable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Invit1ng B~ds (publlshed
February 3 and 4, 1986) to furn~sh and deliver one (I) 10/500
GVW Cab and Chassls wlth water~ng tank ~n accordance wlth clty
spec~flcations, blds were recelved and publlcly opened and read
on February 18, 1986. Proposal forms were mailed to twenty-slx
vendors and notlces were advertlsed in accordance with Clty
Charter and Munlc~pal Code provlsions. One proposal Was received
as follows:
Claude Short Dodge $21,917.13
Staff has studied Claude Short Dodge's proposal and it meets the
speclflcatlons. As a result of surveYlng flve vendors who did not
submlt blds, lt was determlned that one ton trucks are difficult

to obtaln and, in the~r opin~on, it was too costly for them to
b~d on this type of truck with the possibi1~ty of not be~ng awar-
ded the bld. Staff has studled the bid and finds that the bld is
well below the budget est~mate.

Fiscal Year 1985-86 appropr1atlon authorlty for th~s purchase is
ln the Parks D1vis1on, Fecreation and Parks Department I account
number 01-400-511-000-801 .
Fecorrnnendation
It is recommended that the award of Bld *2047 be made to
Claude Short Dodge in the total amount of $21,917.13 including
tax, as the lowest and best bldder.
